How do you encourage social media fans to visit your website?
As an SEO Marketing company, we’ve used various ways to drive traffic from social media to our websites. Try these six tried and true techniques to boost traffic from social media to your website!
1. Completely fill out your profile.
Your bio and profile are the first things people see when they click on your social media page so don’t skip this part. On Instagram, Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn you can add a link directly to your website. This makes the barrier to get to your site is very low.
Action: Make sure you’ve filled out your social media company page, including your website link. Some brands also use a tool like LinkInBio or LinkTree to direct website traffic to the appropriate pages on their website.
2. Promote your blog content.
At Get Social YEG, we put a ton of effort into writing engaging and exciting content for our blogs and want the world to see our latest masterpiece! We incorporate our blog topics as a part of the social media strategy because we want to start the conversion with our audience and give them a reason to want to learn more!
Action: You could share a variety of posts inlcuding
short snippets of your article
Video slideshows
Carousel posts walking users through the blog
Ask questions that are relevant to the post
Share a variety of videos or images related to the blog.
3. Make your content easy to share.
There’s no better compliment to a business than knowing your content is resonating with your audience. When readers share your article with their networks, it’s a massive boost to your website!
Some websites have tools already integrated to allow for social sharing, and there are many plugins available for WordPress and other platforms like Squarespace and Shopify.
Action: Allow – and encourage – existing site visitors to share content hosted on your blog
4. Post when your audience is active.
The best time to share a post about your blog on social media is when your fans are most active – their “peak time.” We’re asked all the time -when’s the best time to post? Honestly, it depends on your account. Every audience is different so it’s important to keep an eye on your best time to post.
Some platforms like Later can track and recommend the best times to post based on your historical data.
Action: Take a look at your page insights for more details about your audience. (Every account is different, so we encourage you to take a look at your own results)
5. Engage with your audience (consistently).
Social media is unique because you can engage directly with your target audience. It’s also a powerful way to drive traffic to your website – and improve your audience’s opinion of your company.
Action: Try to set aside 15-30 minutes a day to engage with your social media audience. You can answer questions and get feedback in real-time.
6. Don’t forget your calls-to-action!
Studies have shown an increase in how many clicks your social media posts get by adding calls-to-action in your post.
A CTA tells a user what you want them to do. We use them in blog content, websites and landing pages all the time, but they’re also great for convincing your audience to click through to your website on social media!
Add phrases like:
