When uploading photos to your website there are a few things you can do to optimize your images that can have a lot of impact on your outcome.
Today we’re going to share how to optimize your images for search engines, for FREE! We’ll go over the exact steps we take when optimizing images on websites.
Step 1. Compress your image.
First, go to compressor.iO and drag your image in (Check out our previous post)
It’s going to compress your image so your website will load faster.
Upload your image, and then download the version you need.
Step 2. Geotag your image
Next, go to geoimgr.com
We’re going to geotag our images for local SEO
Drag your compressed image in
Type in your address or drop a pin
Step 3. Add Alt Tags
When you add an alt tag you make your website more accessible for the visually impaired. It also helps Google understand what your image is.
Add in descriptive words about the image.
Once you’re happy with your tags, go ahead and download the image. Now when you upload your image, the information that has been embedded in your image should come up.
