Who else loves a One Minute Marketing Tip? I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve received the first message pitch – on both personal & professional Instagram accounts.
It usually goes something like this…
🔔 new message received
“Hey {{insert aggressive pitch here}}?”
Not a single question about me or my business or even how my day’s going. While I can appreciate the #hustle, this twirling slide into the DM went the way of the engagement pods and dinosaurs. I get asked all the time what a DM is – it’s a direct message.
Don’t forget your manners just because it’s social media
Would you walk up to someone and pitch them without getting to know them? Most likely, no. You would want to get to know them better, ask them a few questions, and build rapport
Building your community on social media is just like building a real-life relationship.
Social media is a long game, my friends. It’s about making your follower’s day a little better somehow.
Maybe you made them laugh or taught them something new they can share with friends.
When you show your audience you care about them and their outcome through content that’s valuable, they can’t help but follow you on your journey.
Maybe they’ll even sign up for your newsletter list because they know you’ll send them great info! ((Hint hint ))
Or they’ll check out your latest blog for more information and share it with their friend.
We’d love to hear from you in the comments; what do you think? What’s the right way to start building a great online community?
